Question: Many potential clients and some of my long term clients are becoming more and more worried about the economy. What can I do to overcome a potential client’s objection to hire me, and how can I deter a current client from quitting due to fear of the current economy? How to Market a Personal TrainerAre you happy with where your personal training business is at and where your client base is headed? Do you feel that you have enough clients? Maybe you're getting tired of hovering around the main desk of the fitness club, or giving out free health assessments when you could and should be making at least $50 per hour doing what you're passionate about... personal training. Isn't that what you went to college for or are receiving that PT certification for? Everyone I know says that the main thing they want out of life is to be happy. I read an interesting book this week titled “The 4-Hour Work Week” by Timothy Ferris. It really touched on this topic, so I decided to add his wisdom here. If this is how you feel, then let me ask you a question. What is the opposite of happiness? Most people would answer sadness, but this is the wrong answer. The correct answer is boredom. Boredom is the opposite of happiness. Think about it. When are you the least happy? Is it when you're folding those towels or doing those free training sessions? Maybe it's when you're doing those terrific health club personal training deals like, "buy 10 sessions and get 10 free." The problem is that the fitness club is already taking half your money, so you're making a measly $12.50 a session. My point is that you won't be bored (unhappy) when you are passionate and excited about your job and your life. This is happiness! Am I am here to help you achieve this goal, while getting the pay for personal training that you deserve! If I can achieve this in Des Moines, Iowa; I think you can achieve it anywhere.
